Dear Parents and Guardians,
Bonne Année 2018!
Happy New Year 2018!

I hope that you all had an enjoyable time with family and friends. I can’t thank you enough for your wonderful gifts and treats. I hope you know how much I appreciate it. Mille mercis!
As we go into quarter 3, here are some insights into the learning throughout the grades.

2nd Grade: we are going to learn all objects of the school in regard of masculin and feminin nouns, get back to the colors and use them to tell the color of any designated object. The colors comes after the noun. We will learn to use our manners to borrow any object we need and we will continue counting until we reach 30 in numbers and in letters.

3rd-4th Grade: we are going to learn about the countries, the languages we hear and the nationalities. We will learn to recognize a country “pays”, say where someone lives using the right preposition, name the language and tell their nationality in regard of masculin and feminine nouns.

5th Grade: as we finished the animals of the zoo, we are going to learn all farm animals. We will work to name the male, the female, the baby animals and what they produce. Moreover, we will learn also some idiomatic expressions that French people use regularly.
During instruction time….
I believe that good listening, repetition and practice are key ingredients for success. Please remind your children to pay close attention, to think about the context of the lesson and to participate often in class. This will help them make more connections to the material presented, retain it and have the ability to complete the task at hand independently and efficiently.

Et chez vous! …… And at home!

I encourage all students to review their vocabulary daily and repeat the words 5-10 minutes while you are listening. Google/translate can be a big help if you have a doubt on a pronunciation.

Have fun with the learning and always remind your children to do their best at all times.
