2eme semaine/ Week 2

Bonjour à toutes les familles d’Archway Arete !

Bonjour mes élèves!

I hope that you are doing well and working on packet 1, hopefully it was smooth and enjoyable. I miss you dearly and I am ready to help you learn from afar. My email is sgebara@archwayarete.org. Please let me know if you may have any questions while completing the packet. Google is a useful tool for pronunciation.

Mes élèves,

Read your vocabulary aloud and count cheerfully! I will always be proud of your accomplishments. I like to say with a smile: A bientôt! I will see you all very soon!

Parents and Guardians,

Please find here all my instructions in regard all packets.

2nd Grade

We will be reviewing all school activities. Moreover, students will be able to express their likes/dislikes.  One sheet is requiring students to connect the picture to the right vocabulary words. Second sheet is telling a small story about school activities. I would like the student to read it once completely. After reviewing the numbers, let’s see how students associate numbers and words together.

3rd Grade

We will be reviewing what to prepare and eat at a picnic. We are going to complete the story about picnic by setting the table and drawing the food in the basket.

On the table, students are asked to draw a tablecloth, 2 plates, 3 cups, 4 knives, 5 spoons and 7 forks.

In the basket, they are to draw 6 eggs, salad, 4 tomatoes,

Cheese and 2 baguettes of bread.  We need to keep in mind the numbers in words: Let’s do some word search on the look for the French numbers 1-30.

4th Grade

We are reviewing different nationalities around the world; languages people speak and where they live. Next, they are asked to check the French calendar and all the events that occur every month in France. We will take a break and look to find those months on the word search page “Les mois de l’année”. Please test your knowledge of the French Calendar with the last page. At the end, check the spelling of your numbers in words.

5th Grade

We are reviewing our last lesson together about what can be scary to you. First, students are asked to make their own flash cards. Second, they find a reminder on the use of the prepositions, already seen and learned with prior lessons. They are given several examples that I want them to read slowly, with emphasis on masculine singulier (singular), feminine singulier (singular) and the plural for both.  The answer key sheet is coming next. They are asked to correct their answers and read it again. On the third page, they are asked to use the pictures listed on top to tell what is scary to Alice, Leo, Maggie and Grand-mere Colette. I gave them some fun with guessing sentences. They are to carefully read all hints before they start. Yes, one more time, they are asked to check and correct their answers. To remember all the numbers in words, a word search that bring all essentials to their memory.

Bonjour à toutes les familles d’Archway Arete,

Bonjour Mes élèves,

I hope you had a restful and enjoyable spring break!

Personally, I got to spend quality time with my husband and twins, went shopping, took several naps, and worked a little on my final paper due in May.

As we get to be forcibly away from school, I assigned some work to the students based on prior knowledge. Moreover, I found this time to be an opportunity to consolidate all numbers learned in words also.

In the packet, you will find all the vocabulary/numbers needed to complete the activities. For 5th grade only, I included the answer key to all required activities and some of those includes more grammar. Please, encourage the students to review their vocabulary/numbers first and then complete their activities. Google can be a useful tool if you have any doubt on pronunciation.

Parents and Guardians,

I miss seeing you all in the morning and  want you to know that your kind words always touch my heart. I tremendously miss my students and cannot wait to see their beautiful faces very soon and listen to their thoughtful contributions.

Stay safe and healthy!

A bientôt!
